At the time of the COVID-19 pandemic I
am trying to put an order in my archives, that include
endless drafts not yet discarded. I just started. On the
left you see the content with titles of writings,
written in different periods of time and under different
circumstances. I will try to organize them in a
few groups. |

After many years of working as engineers in different cities
(and countries) of the former USSR, in 1995 my husband and I
arrived to Canada. It was necessary to
take root. After brainstorming, I decided that the only way to
be successful here, in North America,
was not to try to do something better, not to be afraid
to do it differently and to show that doing it
differently is not so bad. How to show? |

First, of course, in words. I prepared the
corresponding short texts (in English) about myself, my work
and philosophy, my hobbies and travels. I learned and began to
try: in churches and libraries, at a skating rink and
exhibitions, in fashion shops and galleries, etc. It worked
great, especially after learning the phrase: "Could you help me
please, I arrived from Ukraine just a week ago." In
Montreal, I began to attend the ˮCreative writing club.
”(Writing, something like that, even in English it doesn't sound
like that seriously) In order not to waste time studying the
language, I began to write about everything, depending on the
intended interlocutor: about my many hobbies, travels, Russian
art and literature, about greeting cards that I started making, etc.
And so it went. I got a taste and began to continue in Russian.
In the process, a genre was determined in which I would like to
write seriously - philosophical notes. I do not hope to reach
the heights of literary creativity. I am looking for a way out
for my accumulated thoughts.
Best regards, Viktorina Savelyeva.
